2010 Year In Review!!!

It seems like it’s only been a couple of months since our last Year In Review! This year has flown by. We have had a very blessed year; good health, another year wiser, a couple of fun trips, Brad adopted a couple of children, we gained a neice and a couple of new nephews, Brad’s hair got thinner and my hair got shorter! Looking back, we’ve had a fun year, but it hasn’t been as “Kingdom impacting” as I would have liked for it to be. So that will be our focus as a family for 2011! Our goals are to grow closer to God, Spend more quality time as a Family, Exercise more and pick up a few more outdoor adventures, and to be better friends, and better at our jobs. Here are some photos to highlight The Seaman Family in 2010:

In the Spring, Brad, Evie, Lily, and I along with a group of close friends, went on an amazing Caribbean Cruise. Evie’s 7th Birthday, happened while on the cruise, so it was a perfect present for her. We visited San Juan, St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, St. Maarten, and Dominica all in one trip, and since we did so much, there are lots of photos that I just couldn’t leave out!

Everyone on the trip with us, were so good to Evie and Lily and treated them just like their own children. We are blessed to have such amazing friends.
Sunburnt on the first day…

St. Thomas was just stunning! The clearest waters I have ever seen!
We learned how to snorkel and Lily is a snorkeling machine!
Evie played it a little safer….

We had to check out all of the local goods on each Island.
The dinners were amazing, I swear we all gained several pounds on this trip!
Brad got rewarded with a kiss after surprising his three lovely ladies with a rose at dinner!
The waterfalls and rain forests of Dominica were spectacular!
Evie and Lily loved that they got to sleep on bunk beds in our cabins. It was a dream come true for them! 🙂

In Barbados, we rented our own private Catamaran for the day, and I highly recommend doing so if you ever go on a cruise. We had so much fun, and the crew cooked us lunch and served us drinks. We also got to swim with sea turtles and see them close up! Probably my favorite part of the trip.

We had a dance party on the trampoline aboard our catamaran….
Our departing photo with our crew….
We played on a secluded beach by the Pitons on St. Lucia. Also a very beautiful place…
Oh, and I learned this cool new feature on my camera. I was lovin’ Sepia!

Nicholas….

Every night after dinner, we came home to a new creature on our beds, made from towels. Clever!
St. Kitts was like our own little peice of HEAVEN!!!

Brad’s signature pose….

Enjoying a little Island Flavor…my picky daughter, Evie, was not enjoying it so much.

More snorkeling….

We experienced volcanoes up close and personal, and the sulfur smell that comes with them!
Nick and Brad, this needs to go in their offices!
The whole crew minus Julie…..
It’s funny how your body looks so much better in the air and in water…..

I married Mr. GQ!
I love this picture of Becca, the girls, and I…
A great Father/Daughter moment….
Nick and Brad….

Rebecca, Julie, and I….
Evie, loving the sand!
This was our last dinner on the ship, so we got our picture taken with our waiters…
And after we came home from our super fun vacation, my neice Ava Reese, was born!! Isn’t she so cute!?
In June of 2010, I had my 10 Year High School Reunion, that myself and a couple other high school friends planned. It was great to see everyone after 10 years!! We didn’t have a five year reunion, so it had been a loooong time.
Emily and I, trying to re-live our youthful sexiness. 🙂
Then, on July 15th, my baby boy turned 1!!!

Also, in July, we moved to a new house! It has a pool, which was a lot of fun over the summer. We love our new home. 🙂

In August, Lily started Kindergarten and Evie began 2nd grade! My girls are growing up fast.

Off to school….and yes, I cried.
September 7th, Lily turned 6! I decided to go into the Children’s Party Planning business, and this was my first party…to see all the pictures from Lily’s Luau, you can go here!

Then, something very special happened on August 11th, 2010….Brad became the legal Father of Evie and Lily!!! I couldn’t ask for a better Father for them.

The Seaman Girls…..

Gifts, with their new Last Name….
The proud parents…

Labor Day weekend we took a trip to Pigeon Forge with my Mom, Dad, Sister and her family, and Brother and his family. We had a very relaxing, good time. Well, all except for when we lost Evie in the mountains!! Thank God for the family from Alabama who walked up the mountain with her to find us. And thank God that Evie had my cell phone number memorized!!

And to the end of the year, we took our annual trip up to Northern Indiana to pick out our Christmas tree, and enjoy the fun of the season. 🙂

Happy New Year to all, and what better time to look back at such a great year than on Brad and My, three-year Anniversary!!!

I love the edible gold crsytals on the smores and the cocktails.

Treasuring Life….

Over the past year, Crew & Cate has been a very exciting adventure for me. I’ve learned so much from this experience. We sold 74 items in 10 months; gained 325 FB fans; started an Event Planning Division; we sold items in a boutique in Noblesville, IN called Linden Tree Gifts, and on an online boutique called Magpielovely; we were featured on several blogs and in an online magazine (Babiekins); we even sold a onesie that ended up on Jim Irsay’s (Owner of the Indianapolis Colts) newest Grandson! 🙂 And I regained my old best friend, Leah.

However, all of this excitement has kept me very busy sewing, tied to the computer, and in and out of fabric stores….and now it is time for me to get back to the important things in life. Treasuring the little moments with my children, my family, my friends, and God. Therefore, I am closing shop, and will no longer be making Children’s clothes. It is still a passion of mine so I won’t be putting away my Sewing Machine completely, and I will still be planning events, (so email me if you are interested at crewandcate@gmail.com) but the boutique is now closed.

I plan to start picnicking with my children, visiting parks, reading, getting back into a bible study, exercising, and all of the wonderful things that I’ve missed out on over the last year because I’ve been too busy. My children need me, my Husband needs me, and I need God. 🙂 Thank you so much for all your support over the last year! Here is a look back on our progress and how far we’ve come.

Much Love,

Aubree

Home Redecorating…

If you are like me and you are constantly obsessing over ways to make your home look better, than you have to check out this give-away going on over at Modern Chic Home! They are giving away $100 Gift Certificate to their shop. And, keep following them because they are on day #2 of their 8 Days of Giveaways!!

Their facebook page has oodles of wonderful inspirational pictures. I like to go there for ideas; here are a few of my favorite photos:

Love this mirror, so fit for a queen. 🙂
I really like lots of clean whites with just a splash of color like in the photos seen below. My problem: 3 kids.

I heart Chandeliers…
Silhouettes are popping up everywhere these days, especially in the children boutique and party planning businesses. I just may have to design one myself for some of the little girls’ tank tops that I will have coming out this Spring…
I’ve also been thinking about making drapes for my home. We have none, and you can see right through our house! My sewing room is in the front office of the house and I have an ironing board and bins of fabric showcased for the whole World to see. It’s so not cute, and embarrassing that the neighbors can see right in as I work. I love the fresh pots of Greenery below and the colors!
Anyway, get on over and enter for a chance to win some new decor for your home sweet home.

Hot Cocoa Dippers!

Add a little extra fun to your hot chocolate with these yummy little Hot Cocoa Dippers! All you need is large white marshmallows, drinking straws or pop skewers, chocolate, and red nonpareil sprinkles.

  • Skewer marshmallows on straws, then melt chocolate in a small shallow microwave safe bowl.
  • Dip in marshmallows, leaving white tops exposed; lift sticks straight up, letting excess chocolate drip off.
  • Cool briefly on waxed paper, but dip marshmallow bottoms into sprinkles while chocolate is still slightly soft.

I will be using these Peppermint Gourmet Marshmallows from Plush Puffs. It’s only $13 for 60-70 mashmallows! You can buy them in many different delicious flavors too. Place them in your drink or use them as dippers and swirl them around, as they slowly melt into your hot cocoa. 😉

Stay Warm,

Aubree

The Burberry – only available here…

I recently created this beautiful Winter hat and Tie set as a Custom order for someone, and love it so much, that I thought I would continue offering it, only to my blog followers and Facebook Fans. This is the last hat of the season that I will be making, as my shop is closed until January. After the Holidays, I will be starting on my Spring Break line, so all of my other items are no longer going to be available.

I love the intellectual, “going somewhere” feel of this hat and think it would be darling on any little boy. If you would like to have one for your deer little one, please email me at crewandcate@gmail.com, and I would be happy to make one for you. 😉 Shhh, you must be a FB fan to order.

Happy Holidays!

Baby Fever!

It’s amazing how babies tend to happen in spurts. It feels like everyone around me is prego right now and due from April – September time frame! Brad and I have been trying for a while for our last little one, with no luck. But that’s okay, God knows best so I will wait for his timing.

Anyway, with all of you pregos running around, I thought I would share some fun, baby-adorable finds! And I am so into Silver, light blues, and light pinks right now so I went with those colors for this theme…

I am in LOVE with Layla Grace and their elegant decor. I just can’t get enough of them! This Antique Silver Crib is breath taking

This is a modern nursury quilt/playroom rug from Layla Grace.
Every new Mom, at least in these cooler states, needs a stroller liner/blanket to keep baby warm. This one is made from Target’s Dwell Studio Fabric.
Aren’t these little shoes adorable? You can find them here: All Things For Baby
Leave your baby love notes in their nursery on one of these adorable chalk boards from Chalk Board Originals!
